For those of you who do not know me, I have been in Golden Retrievers a VERY long time....Bought my first Golden, as a pet, in 1967. Entered him in his first show at 11 months, got a 4 point major and BOW, and finished his Championship, as a very novice handler, within the year! Became interested in everything Golden and all the participatory things you could do with them that would enrich our lives. Eventually bought my foundation bitch pup from a repeat of a very successful breeding sired by Pat & Joan Nazark's Am./Can. CH. Kyrie Daemon CDX, WC, VC and that is how Smithaven started. Over the years, I developed a love for the moderately "British" style of Golden, blending them with American lines, with my goal to produce a moderate Golden with a lovely head and expression, a sweet and willing nature, and the natural ability to perform. Some of them are reproduced here for you to see.

Am proud to brag that many Smithaven dogs have been given the opportunity to prove themselves in the Field. Many have earned their Junior Hunter, WC, and WCX, but here I would like to honor those who have gone on even beyond this proof of field ability...
